In an attempt to counteract the misinformation spread by the media, and as an expression of democracy, every American will be granted one vote for President. This means, for example, that voters in a solidly Republican state will have their say in voting for who wins the election. The voter's information would be tracked: income, employment status, ethnicity, voting records and the like. But no one will know how they voted. Polling would still be used to determine how the public feels about certain issues but all information on who they voted for would either not be collected or destroyed. If this system was instituted and was successful in countering misinformation then voting may eventually become a universal right of every citizen regardless of age--as is voting can currently be granted only at 18--and we may see less inequality between rich and poor states as well.
